This was our second collaboration with Patrick Guedj, creative director of Kenzo Perfume, Paris.
We were line producers and as such had the mission to find the location and to create an idyllic natural studio where Patrick could immerse himself, away from everything, in an atmosphere of pure stillness and beauty and be inspired to create.
Casting for this ad took many months as the Parisian producers combed the model agencies of the world for the right faces. Finally their selection was made and Pania flew in to Brisbane from New York and Andrew from Milan. Their helicopters had barely landed on Fraser Island before they discovered that they had both grown up in the suburbs of Perth and that they were born on the same day. They had both very recently been married, but the chemistry between them was electric and it shows in the beautiful super 16mm ad that Patrick made.
In the photographs above, made by Jules for the press kit, you can see what an intense but blissful experience this was.
